Pizzelles have always been served at special family gatherings. I have, and use, Grandma Gurto’s original non-electric pizzelle maker that she had since the 1950s.

Ingredients
12 large Eggs
2 cups Sugar
1 1/2 Cups vegetable oil
2 tsp Vanilla
2 tsp Aniseed essence
3 cups Plain flour
Method
Step 1 – Preheat pizzelle maker.
Step 2 – Place eggs in a large bowl and beat slightly, until blended.
Step 3. Add sugar and mix until sugar is dissolved.
Step 4 – Add remaining wet ingredients and mix.
Step 5 – Add flour all at once and mix until a smooth batter is made.
Step 6 – Place 1/3 Cup batter on each section of the Pizzelle maker.
